I have always loved rivers and how transitory yet familiar it is to revisit my childhood waterways, and those I’ve discovered as I’ve grown. I met my best friend overlooking the banks of the Ohio River – a man who worked alongside this river every day, who would watch the swallows dip in and out of barns and observe the catfish skim for dropped grain from the passing barges. The Ohio continues to offer me rare currents and opportunities to perceive this world – and each time I revisit, I leave renewed.
