Dighton Rock State Park

Years ago while in college a professor talked about a stone in this area that had inscriptions on it he said were written by the Vikings. Little did I know that years later I would buy a house right behind the park where the Rock was located. I frequently go for walks in the park long the river and occasionally go fishing there. There is a museum located there where they have enclosed the rock, which as at one time exposed to the elements. A very dear friend of mine and I go walking there several times a week, and we call it our “tooddles” in the park as I use a power chair and we have some nice adventures there. I have also joined the Friends of Dighton Rock where interesting programs about the area and river are put on. It is a small and simple park with nice walks along the river.
