Riverbend is a great park, situated on a fork of the Loxahatchee River (a genuine “Wild and Scenic” river). The canoe connection between this county park and nearby Jonathan Dickenson State Park is a twisting, turning route, lined with cypress tree roots, Limpkins, and Apple Snails. Mussel shells litter the shore, a favorite snack of the Egrets. An ethereal mystique hangs over the dark quiet waters.
Canoe-ers can also venture through a series of pools connected by culvert within the county park, if water levels are right.
